Project Description:
Our client owns a factory that produces medical products, production is executed in the workshop, which is planned to be built as per 100,000 Class cleanroom, complying to ISO standard and local authority regulations.
Client started their business almost 2 decades ago, first imported medical products from manufacturers in oversea countries. And then they decided to have their own factory, so that the production would be executed by themselves, most importantly, they can deliver orders from their clients in much shorter time.
Project Solution:
The factories are well designed into several rooms, including Product quarantine, Material warehouse, Finished product warehouse and major workshop which is going to be clean room area, it includes People entrance, Material entrance, Female changing room, Male changing room, Laboratory, Inter-locking area and Production area.
Major workshop is the area that clients wants to have HVAC system to have indoor air controlled, in terms of cleanliness, temperature, relative humidity and pressure. Holtop came out and provided purification HVAC system to deliver what client wishes.
Firstly we worked with client to define the dimension of the major workshop, gained clear understanding of the daily work flow and people flow, essential characters of their products, and their production process. As a result, we successfully designed the major equipment of this system, and that is the purification air handling unit.
The purification air handling unit supply total air flow 6000 CMH, distributed later by HEPA diffusers to each room. The air would first be filtered by panel filter and bag filter. Then the DX coil would cool it down to 12C, and transform the air into condensate water. Next, the air would be heated up a bit by electric heater, and there is also an humidifier to help add moisture to the air, so that the relative humidity in the workshop will not be too low.
By purification, it means the AHU is not only able to control the temperature, and filter the particles, but also able to control the relative humidity as well. At local city where is near by sea, the outdoor air’s relative humidity is somewhere over 80%. It is too much and would likely bring moisture to the finished products and erode the production equipment, by ISO class 100,000 the clean room areas require the air to be just 45%~55%.
In summary, the indoor air is maintained around 21C±2C, relative humidity at 50%±5%, with real time monitor on the control box.
Holtop BAQ team is dedicated to help industries of pharmaceutical, hospital, manufacturing, and many others, to have the indoor air quality controlled and monitored, complying to ISO and GMP standard, so that clients would be able to make their high quality products under perfect conditions.
